Various Composers: Opera choruses
- Berliner Oratorien-Chor
Konzertchor Schlachtensee - Conductor Thomas Hennig
Two major Berlin choirs, an extraordinary venue and the most beautiful opera choruses in musical history:
As part of the 125th anniversary of the Chorverband Berlin, Berlin’s largest amateur music association, in collaboration with the Konzertchor Schlachtensee and the Berliner Oratorien-Chor, invites you to a festive opera chorus concert in the Arena of the Gärten der Welt on 30 May 2026 at 4 pm.
The programme features twelve of the most popular choral melodies – ranging from sublime and festive to powerful and dramatic. Look forward to unforgettable highlights such as the famous Prisoners’ Chorus, the Brides’ Chorus from Lohengrin, resonant hunters’ choruses, the Moon Chorus and other audience favourites from the operatic stage. A concert full of emotion and musical passion – ideal for opera lovers and newcomers alike.
Great choral music in a unique open-air atmosphere – celebrate 125 years of Berlin choral culture with us and secure your tickets in good time.
Advance booking prices are cheaper than at the box office.
** PLEASE NOTE **
Your ticket also entitles you to a full-day visit to the Gardens of the World. Entry to the Gardens of the World and the concert is via the main entrance on Blumberger Damm only!
At the same time, the Schlachtensee Concert Choir will also be rehearsing the same programme from 6 April, every Thursday from 7.30 pm to 10.00 pm at the Johanneskirche Schlachtensee, Matterhornstr. 37-39, 14129 Berlin.
Rehearsals for both choirs will be led by Thomas Hennig, who will also conduct the concert.
Registration
Please register for this project with the Berlin Choral Association (CVB) by email by 24 April 2026: opernchor@chorverband-berlin.de. Please also let the CVB know whether you would like to rehearse with us in the Berlin Oratorio Choir or with the Schlachtensee Concert Choir.
Sheet music
A printed music book containing all the choral pieces in the planned programme order is available at our rehearsals or from the Schlachtensee Concert Choir. Please ensure you use only this book so that all participants can work from the same edition and with the same page numbers. Upon registration, you will also receive a link to the digital version of the music book.
